A Pictorial Reporting the Activities of the Aurah Supporters at the Universiade

Celebrating the 1st anniversary of the Universiade, Daegu Citizen Supporters' Association has published a pictorial reporting the activities of the supporters at the 22nd Universiade Daegu and their achievements-"The Activities of Daegu Citizen Supporters."
What is noteworthy is that the members of the Aurah Supporters from the Church of God are put on almost all the pages of the picture report. On the cover, the Church youths cheering with face paintings like AURAH', 'WE U are put. A total of 420 pages carry over 3,000 pictures. Whenever readers turn the pages, they come to meet the bright faces of the Aurah Supporters who are joyful with the athletes from the whole world.
It is natural that the photos of the Church of God members are put on almost all the pages; because among 25,000, about 20,000 supporters (accumulative total of 87,000) were from the Church of God. The pictorial describes the trace of the supporters: welcoming at the airport, cheering at the stadiums, Daegu city tour guide, Korean culture experience guide, lunch or dinner parties for athletes, and sending off at the airport, including the flashlight performances at the opening and closing ceremonies. On the whole pages, the sincere support of the members of the Church of God is revealed consistently.

Despite the bad weather, the supporters cheered the athletes ardently and systematically, so that they arose citizens' positive participation and attracted the attention of the mass media home and abroad. They took the lead in making the Universiade a success. Jacques Rogge the IOC President, George E. Killian the FISU President and all sports people highly praised the supporters, saying that they made the 2003 Summer Universiade the greatest one in the history of the Universiade ("The Activities of Daegu Citizen Supporters," p29).
Thus, the supporters brought forth a success of the international games and gave deep impression to the people of the world. It's due to the true love in their hearts. At the "Rally of Citizen Supporters Loving Daegu City" held on August 25, Hae Nyoung Cho the President of the Daegu Universiade Organizing Committee expressed his appreciation to the supporters over and over, and asked them to continue leading their neighbors with love and service.
Last year, the Church of God gave hope to the Daegu citizens who were suffering from the subway arson attack and economical stagnation, and volunteered to support the youths from the whole world to deliver God's love and Koreans' warmheartedness. Like the light of WEU they shined at the opening and closing ceremonies, all the members of the Church of God will make every effort to embroider the love of God on the hearts of the world's people.
